All the 2K games that leaked before E3

A bunch of video game reveals are coming thanks to E3 and the various E3-side announcements and events taking place this month.

But some announcements are coming in earlier than expected, often in the form of leaks. Massive 2K Games leak reveals several new titles we should know more about at E3.

The leak comes from reddit, although it was confirmed to be correct by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier:

So what’s in the leak? A little in fact. Let’s dive into it.

The leaks

Four games have been leaked on reddit. One is a Marvel XCOM crossover, so sort of a turn-based Marvel superhero tactical game. I’m more excited about the XCOM part than Marvel. You can’t have too much of XCOM, but you can kind of have too much of Marvel. I’m curious to see what Firaxis does with this one.

There is also NBA 2K22 (cue halps of surprise), a mysterious title currently called Codename Volt and a Borders tentatively titled spin-off Little Tina’s Wonderland.

Here is what reddit user u / swine_flu_greg posted on reddit:

  • NBA 2K22: Dirk Nowitzki will be the cover athlete this year. EDIT: Could be the cover of another Legend edition, with other athletes on other editions, as some have mentioned in the comments.
  • Wonderland: Codename Daffodil – This is a title derived from Borderlands with Tiny Tina. The final name could also be “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands” (because that’s the name Gearbox already has trademark.) Seems to be the same style as all other Borderlands games with “Multiclass-Heroes” to play. This spin-off has been around since last year, so I guess it’s not really new. The reveal should be expected at E3. EDIT: Here is the hallmark of wonderland
  • New Firaxis game: Codename CODA – New turn-based action game using the Marvel property. The source described it as “XCOM with the Marvel heroes”. Looks like some famous actors are voicing the characters.
  • Code name Volt: New action game, seems to be very early in development. The logo looks like the Fallout-Logo. No definitive name yet. A source described him as “Cthulhu meets Saints Row”. The game looked pretty unfinished in the trailer. Unfortunately, my source did not know which studio is developing this title. I think it could be Hangar13, because they had a contract disclosed last year, who said they were working on an “open-world sci-fi title with supernatural elements.”

The Gearbox presentation is scheduled for June 12. You can see the full E3 schedule (or what we know about the schedule so far) here.
