LAS VEGAS (KTNV) – One of Las Vegas’ oldest and most historic properties has slowed the pandemic and made it an opportunity to renovate the property.
The El Cortez Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas now features modernized guest rooms and new touches throughout the casino.
“It’s our 80th anniversary, built in 1941, so since we’ve been here I think the El Cortez hotel and casino have perhaps never been more relevant, more popular, better reputable, we take great care for the people here, ”said Adam Wiesberg, general manager of El Cortez Hotel & Casino.
Improvements to the property totaled $ 25 million.
“We have always been a gambling establishment, and the addition of this new high limit room, all the new amenities, new hotel rooms, new dining options, should be a game-changer for people. people on their return, ”Wiesberg said.
Wiesberg says the pandemic break presented a variety of challenges, but employees and property have met all the criteria to remain ready to serve customers and guests.
“If you had told me what we would have had to go through last year, what we would have to adapt to the changes we had to make to its operators, I would not have believed you,” Wiesberg said.
“I couldn’t be more proud of my team here at El Cortez, the frontline employees at the property, we were immediately into it and I think everyone in Las Vegas in the community as well as the gaming industry , we’re all in it, ”Wiesberg added.
Wiesberg now says the fight is following demand and is hiring enough staff to fill any vacancies it has.
