FanDuel & The Ringer Form Sports betting, DFS partnership

Pop culture website The Ringer, with its many podcasts, newsletters, and personalities, has cemented a content deal with FanDuel Group that will run until early 2022.

Both sides will promote the core assets of each group, with FanDuel fitting into The Ringer’s network. The Ringer will participate and also strengthen the profile of FanDuel’s fantasy sports division.

The Ringer was founded by Bill simmons, self-proclaimed “Sportsguy”, who previously piloted “Grantland” under ESPN before parting with that network in 2015. The following year he launched The Ringer, and in 2020 he was bought by Spotify. The Ringer is home to over two dozen podcasts focused on pop culture, sports, and the hangouts of the two.

Under the new deal, FanDuel will be the exclusive partner of daily sports betting and fantasy sports on The Ringer website and podcast network. Simmons and other personalities are expected to participate in fantasy sports leagues and comment on the topic via The Ringer content channels.

FanDuel partnerships are growing in many directions

In 2021, FanDuel was named one of the National Football League’s three exclusive partners in a landmark tri-exclusive deal. As part of this partnership, FanDuel, along with Caesars Entertainment (Caesars recently purchased William Hill) and DraftKings are named official sports betting partners of the NFL, with the right to use the NFL marks on sports betting sites from retail and online.

Also in 2021, FanDuel struck a deal with the Phoenix Suns on a multi-year deal to bring daily fantastic sports and sports betting deals to Arizona fans. FanDuel is the licensed gaming operator, as well as the official Daily Fantastic Partner of the National Basketball Association.

FanDuel’s efforts to increase their brand reach extend to media partners, professional leagues, and even the athletes themselves.

Five months ago, Charles Barkley announced that he and FanDuel had reached an agreement for the company to become his exclusive daily sports betting and fantasy sports partner. As part of the unique deal, which will serve as a role model for former athletes and broadcast talent, Barkley also serves as an ambassador and spokesperson for the FanDuel brand.

FanDuel Group offers online casinos, sports betting, online horse racing, and daily fantasy sports through their websites and mobile apps. It was founded in 2009 and currently 95% of the company is owned by former Paddy Power Betfair, now known as Flutter Entertainment.
