Rochdale Mayfield is set to receive a grant of £5,530.64 from the CreatedBy RLWC2021 (Rugby League World Cup 2021) Capital Grants Legacy scheme.
The grant, which has been awarded to help more people play rugby league locally in Rochdale, will fund the club’s new equipment and help the club develop the game of rugby league in the borough.
Neil Ramsden, Chairman of Rochdale Mayfield, said: “We are delighted to receive this grant and look forward to seeing the results of this investment which will support the club’s aim of providing the very best in training facilities and of play, and to support the club in developing the game of rugby league in the borough from year to year.
“On behalf of all, we pass on our thanks to the government and the National Lottery for their support of the CreatedBy program.”
Delivered in partnership between RLWC2021 (Rugby League World Cup 2021), The National Lottery, the Rugby Football League, Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, the CreatedBy program is a prize pool made available by the government and The The National Lottery to support the legacy of the Rugby World Cup by increasing participation in the sport.

The 2021 Rugby League World Cup will be all-inclusive, with men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions taking place simultaneously, under one tournament banner for the first time.
