Overview of bets
Time is running out for Dundee in their bid to avoid a return to the Championship, but they can keep their hopes alive with a win over relegation rivals St Johnstone.
With five games to go, the difference between the teams is five points and a Saints win would pretty much guarantee the safety of automatic relegation.
The Dark Blues have failed to achieve Premiership success since beating Hearts in February, but they have earned creditable draws against Hibernian, Aberdeen and Dundee United.
Charlie Adam has started just two of Dundee’s previous nine games at Dens Park, but the Dark Blues captain is back and he found the net in a 2-2 draw in the Dundee derby the last time.
Adam’s return is a major boost for Mark McGhee’s men, as is St Johnstone’s dismal away form.
The Saints have won just one of their last 12 road trips and they have scored 13 goals in their last five games away from McDiarmid Park.
A win for Dundee would reduce the gap between the sides to just two points and, at 17-10, the Dark Blues appear to have good value for money to convince their relegation rivals.
Hibernian parted ways with gaffer Shaun Maloney earlier in the week and it may not be a great start for interim boss David Gray.
Demetri Mitchell, Darren McGregor, Kevin Nisbet, Kyle Magennis, Drey Wright and Christian Doidge will all miss the trip to St Mirren through injury, while key defender Ryan Porteous is suspended.
That’s a lot of quality from a struggling side and the Buddies look capable of at least avoiding defeat in Paisley.
