TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Town Schools Foundation announced that $ 12,000 was raised during the Casino Night on Saturday May 1, 2021. The event took place at Ferus Artisan Ales.
Leslie Armstrong, with the foundation, said the fundraising was made possible by the event’s many sponsors and attendees who purchased tickets.
“The Trussville City Schools Foundation would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support to the Foundation and to every ticket purchaser,” said Armstrong. “We understand that there are many non-profit groups you could contribute to and we are extremely grateful that you have chosen us.”
The total amount was a 45% increase from the 2020 fundraiser, making the second annual event a huge success.
“Our delicious meals were prepared and presented by the Culinary Academy at Hewitt Trussville High School,” Armstrong added. “We had great prizes and door prizes which were given to us by many members of the Trussville community. Thanks to Hewitt Trussville Athletic Foundation for 2 season football tickets, Stephanie Benzaia for a signature photoshoot, Ace Hardware in Trussville for a Weber Grill, Goodfellas Gaming for a private poker night and to Ross Bridge Resort and Spa for a stay of two nights with breakfast. “

Whistlestop Garden Shop designed and put together extravagant floral displays for the event. Armstrong said the arrangements made Ferus a “casino paradise”.

The Trussville City Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises funds to support Trussville’s three elementary schools, college and high school through three annual events, corporate sponsorships and community donations. The funds raised cover supplies and programs beyond the minimum requirements set by the state, at the request of our parents and educators to support the development of our students and schools. In the past, these funds have been used to purchase computers and iPads, Elmo projectors, library books, Braille books, special needs play equipment, a sensory room, professional development programs for the faculty, instruments for music and music lessons, foreign languages. classroom supplies, an environmental education center, exercise equipment for PE classes, robotics equipment, Nova science probes, supplies to aid schools’ COVID response, and more.
