The Irish Sport Federation today announced that Clubforce is the title sponsor of the return of the Irish Sport Industry Awards, following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The award ceremony will take place on Tuesday 17and May in the historic Banking Hall of the Westin Hotel.

The Irish Sport Industry Awards 2022, in association with Clubforce, will be the fifth edition of the awards which recognize the invaluable relationship between business and sport in Ireland. The sports industry in Ireland supports 64,000 jobs, stimulates €3.3 billion in household spending and generates €3.7 billion (GVA) in gross value added to the Irish economy. The awards celebrate and reward excellence in sport, while highlighting sport’s contribution to Ireland Inc.

Mary O’Connor, CEO of the Irish Sports Federation noted, “I am delighted to launch the return of the Irish Sport Industry Awards and to have Clubforce on board as title sponsor. It is more important than ever to celebrate the economic importance of sport to the economy after two incredibly difficult years for the industry I’m especially pleased to announce that Clubforce is the title sponsor and sponsor of the award for Best National Board of Directors Leading provider of an all-in-one sports platform, they power clubs and sports associations across the country and have proven to be an invaluable resource in the daily work of NGBS.We are especially excited to hear news of their specific NGB product later this year.

The 10 award categories recognize the value that sport adds to the Irish economy from a sports industry perspective, as well as celebrating the continued work done by national governing bodies and local sport partnerships to promote the sport and physical activity nationwide. According to recent research from Sport Ireland, the sport economy has grown faster than the economy as a whole over the past 10 years. Entries for the awards will open in the coming days and I encourage everyone involved in the sport to submit an entry in the open categories available.

One of our values at Clubforce is to make sport accessible to everyone. Thist is a rare event like this that allows us to reflect, measure and celebrate the tangible benefits of ordinary people, us non-professionals, doing sport every day.

We are excited about the lineup and grateful to Mary and her team for putting together such an impressive program.
