The Tour of Britain | The Tour of Britain in the running for the Sport Industry Award

On the same day the host regions for the 2022 Tour of Britain were revealed, last year’s race was shortlisted as a finalist at the prestigious Sport Industry Awards.

The 17th edition of the Modern Tour, which ran from Cornwall to Aberdeen and was won by Belgian star Wout Van Aert, is nominated in the Event of the Year category.

The competition comes in the form of BLAST Premier Fall Final 202, EFL Sky Bet Play Off Finals, The Hundred and Wimbledon – The Championships 2021.

The winners will be announced at an event at Evolution London on Thursday 12 May.

This is the second prize the race has been nominated for in the space of three weeks: the 2021 Tour of Britain is also shortlisted for sporting event of the year at the Event Production Awards.

The 2022 Tour of Britain (Sunday September 4-11) will feature a much-anticipated return to Yorkshire and the first-ever full stages in Dorset and Gloucestershire. Click here for more details.
