The area’s recent downpour has impacted Coffs Harbor Sport, affecting both indoors and outdoors.
The last round of the Coffs Harbor District Association season last weekend before the final was taken away due to the recent deluge, the last of the majority of rounds this season which had to be canceled due to the summer wet.
This weekend’s semi-finals are also expected to be swept away if heavy rain persists.
Local football matches were also affected last weekend, with all three Australian Cup games scheduled for Sunday on synthetic pitches at Coffs Coast Sport & Leisure Park having to be postponed.
Indoor sports weren’t spared from the recent downpour either.
The final round of Coffs Harbor Basketball Association high school and elementary competitions had to be canceled due to moisture buildup on the playing surface.
A number of other Coffs Harbor sports had to be canceled or postponed due to wet weather, including the Coffs Harbor Motorcycle Club’s first dirt track event of the year last weekend.
In addition to the cancellation of a number of games, the wet weather has prevented those training for the upcoming winter sports seasons from training at various sports grounds due to their closure.
